Leaks can be easily identified by the blackened areas. Another option is to feel for any exhaust gases blowing through with your hand, approximately two centimeters in front of the gasket, while the engine is running. Caution: It's hot! Please note that this problem cannot be solved by overtightening the flanges or exhaust clamps. In the worst case, this could permanently distort the parts.
